Features
of laser transmission welding
|
Laser
transmission welding (LTW) has various advantageous features that conventional
methods do not have.
For example, unlike other bonding methods, LTW can
improve the appearance after the welding of plastic parts and eliminate welding
burrs from welded parts. In addition, the laser beam can be optically
controlled via beam diameter, and this method is almost free from distortion
caused by heat, making it possible to weld thin plastic parts.

- Bonding performance |
|
|
|
As a
production technique for improving bonding performance, this method is
considered to be the most effective as an alternative to the adhesive bonding
method. |
|
- Cost |
|
|
|
In terms
of cost, the raw material cost is expected to increase, but when the labor cost
for nut-and-bolt tightening and the high initial cost of vibration welding are
considered, laser transmission welding is considered to be the most effective
method. |
